Making History with the WeJustWorkin Fall Fashion Show

This past weekend one of New York’s most historic events got a fresh update—and made history all over again! In it’s 40th year, the Richmond County Fair took on a whole new level when WeJustWorkin hosted the first ever Fashion Show and Urban Stage!

I was excited to be there along so many creative, talented and fun people and to watch my Illustrations come down the run way on my collection of Fall Totes!

Seriously, how cool is this venue?!

Seriously, how cool is this venue?!

Set in an open air open brick structure deep in Historic Richmond Town, (who’s historic preserved buildings date back as far as the 1600’s), WeJustWorkin brought together Artists, Musicians, Models, Djs, and performers from all across New York for a full schedule of entertainment. The party continued all weekend but the runway show took place on the Sunday, mid day.

Fall Fashion Forward, the many men’s and women’s looks were a compilation of pieces from all local and New York brands. Warm tones, graphic sweatshirts, heeled boots,—and my personal favorite for Fall 19: Glen Check Plaid— ,and gorgeous jewelry by ShervaJewels made their way across the stage. (*Men’s suiting prints, like the Glen Check are a key player in this season’s women’s trends)

Pictured below are just some of the many fun looks that were shown that day. (These four below featured some of my Illustrated totes!)

The worn stone and brick walls created a beautiful setting for photos. Art by local painters can be seen in the background and was displayed through out the structure.

Weeks earlier this location had been an mess of over grown weeds but it was cleared out just for this occasion! I hope it will continue to be a unique venue for future events.

The Fall Fashion Show in the Richmond County fair was the perfect close to this Summer! — Now who’s looking forward to New York Fashion Week!?!

Runway Review - Marc Jacobs Resort 17

The Marc Jacobs Resort collection was everything good abut the 80's! It's decade inspiration was unmistakably vibrant, whimsical and fun without being the least bit tacky. It's rare I see an 80's inspired show that actually looks current but he pulled it off beautifully. The line pairs prints with solids, tulle underskirts with oversized bombers, gold with animal print and everything in between. Each look comes to life with it's own distinct attitude yet manages to remain completely wearable at the same time.

(I think Jem and Kimber would agree.)
